Dear pwc community
We are just starting to read Harry in a
fifth grade class in upstate New York. Our students are also working on a
project called "Global Village" where they learn about the geography,
politics, and culture of other countries. We would love to somehow get our
students in contact with, and in philosophical dialogue with students
outside the U.S. who are reading Harry also, or who are engaged in some
other kind of philosophical discussions. Any suggestions? If the language
is not English we can arrange for translation at this end.
Thanks for
your help!

Dear p4c friends and colleagues,
I am delighted to report some terrific news from Scotland.
Following the success of the Guided Socratic Discussion [GSD] course "Thinking Adventures" with 3,000 children in 2006, which was funded by the Scottish Executive (national government), East Renfrewshire Dept. of Education has commissioned me to write a further 6 GSD courses (12 books) for children aged 8-16.
And East Renfrewshire will implement the courses with ALL 8-16 year old children in 31 schools - approximately 14,000 children and teenagers over the next 2 years!
