Aims of the Group:

  • Coordinate a group of scholars and practitioners who are interested in connecting Philosophy with Children and teacher education around the world and using Pw4C as a pedagogy for teaching in higher education.
  • Exchange ideas about how other people are actually using, evaluating, and theorizing it and teaching about it to their students with and without enacting it.
  • To serve as a group of exchanges of opinions, research, practical experience on the connection between Philosophy with Children, teacher education and teacher training throughout the two years between ICPIC’s conference.
  • Initiate world-wide research into the connection between Philosophy with Children and teacher education.
  • Initiate writing articles on this topic and publication of books of articles on this subject.
  • Initiate meetings between researchers and practitioners from around the world at the post-conference of the bi-annual ICPIC conference in order to keep ongoing connection between them and enable further initiatives.
  • To initiate longitudinal research into newly qualified teachers who have had P4C input in teacher training to see how it impacts them in their first few years of teaching.
